Carol Ann Duffy dedicates Wirral Bookfest Poetry evening to Chris

As part of the Wirral Bookfest 2010 Bromborough Civic Centre hosted a Poetry evening on 13/10/2010 with the Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy . Before the evening started we passed Carol Ann a copy of the "Siege of Leningrad" and a copy of Chris's poem " What do I smell of?" which contains a reference to Carol Ann. We were then delighted to hear Carol Ann mention Chris and read out his poem, she then went on to dedicate the evening to him. It was a proud moment although tinged with sadness that Chris was not there in person to hear it. A special thanks goes to Carol Ann for this wonderful gesture.

Julie, Rich and Jonny would like to thank the Headteacher and Staff at Holy Spirit Catholic & Church of England Primary School in Leasowe for the very generous and kind donation we received from them for the second year running. The donation was raised by the staff as their "Local Charity not Xmas cards" fundraiser and again this year they chose to donate to The Chris Salmon Foundation.
