Poetry Extravaganza
The competiton for 2012 has now closed and details of next years competiton will be announced later in the year .
Wirral Libraries, in conjunction with the Chris Salmon Foundation would like to thank everyone who has entered this years Chris Salmon Poetry Extravaganza 2012. We have received over 400 entries and the judging is now taking place and the winners will be announced in April 2012. This years awards evening will take place on Friday 27th April at Bromborough Civic Centre and will be hosted by the renowned Liverpool Poet Levi Tafari.

The theme this year was "2012- This Special Year”…. Why will 2012 be special to you? What will make it memorable?
The competition was open to all Primary, Secondary and 6th Form Students in Wirral.
Cash prizes will be awarded to both winners and runners up in each category and they will be invited to attend a workshop hosted by the wonderful Levi Tafari.
The overall winner will also become Wirral’s Young Poet Laureate for the following 12 months and their school will receive £100 in book tokens.
Last year’s winner and current Young Poet Laureate, Kim Morgan, urges everyone to have a go and find their inner poet! She says that since winning last years competition "There hasn’t been a dull moment!”
